Seen@STGCC 2010: Play Imaginative
WHAT: Many weeks ago in December 2010 this Saturday, I ventured out of the hospital for a single day to cruise along the con-aisles of the Singapore Toy Games and Comic Convention in Suntec City. This was what I witnessed from my trusty wheelchair…WHO: One of the key toy-players of STGCC was local toy-makers Play Imaginative (whom folks remember to be the event organizers for STGCC 2008-09), who

Project Singa: Design A Singa Competition & Project Singa Custom Showcase
At first glance, the SINGA 2.5" figurine from Play Imaginative, brought back memories of my school-days, when Singa The Courtesy Lion was seen plastered on Courtesy campaign posters which somehow embedded themselves with our Nation's psyche, so much so it is as much a mascot-icon as the Merlion, IMHO. And holding it in hand, was another boost of toy-joy, as all the abovementioned-memories

Project Singa & Singa Lion The Toy from Play Imaginative

Fast forward to 2010, Singa will be made into a 2.5 inch tall toy figurine, by Play Imaginative!Shown above is

Customizing Urban Vinyl Workshop by Daniel Yu for [Artificial Artefacts]
Tis not a common happenstance that a toy-customizer would hold a workshop about customizing toys (be it a newbie or an old-pro), much less hold it in this little island of Singapore, IMHO. Disregard the simple fact that the toy-communities here are splintered into so many different genres and toy-categories, with a small pocket of dedicated art toy-specific collectors. With that in mind, the "
